In the mostly Kurdish city of Kobane in Syria, an elderly lady who is a volunteer protects a demonstration. The demonstration was against the Turkish invasion of the Afrin, which was once part of Rojava. This photo was taken in 2019 whilst I was filming my documentary ‘Road to Rojava’.
This is a hand printed, 35mm black and white photo which I print to order in my darkroom. I print my photos using the silver gelatin process. This photo comes with a mount and black frame. My photos express the way I am feeling, captured in-between moments of filming for various documentary film projects I am working on. Print sales fund my independent documentary film work.
